My crafting time has been annihilated by college. I try to find time to create new pieces for my Etsy but I barely have time to even think of new ideas. My poor pinterest board must be so lonely without me pinning away for hours a day. But alas, Fall Break is approaching and maybe I'll finally have time to get the creative juices flowing.

You are beautiful

I've noticed a trend lately. People, usually girls, go around and tell people that they're ugly. It just annoys me beyond belief to hear girls say that, because they are beautiful. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Sure, you don't look like a cover girl, but why would you want to? Why would you want to look like someone else? You should celebrate your individuality. Furthermore, if you point out your flaws to someone else you're not doing yourself any favors. If you're looking for compliments by saying these things, then I'm sorry you need to fish for compliments to boost your self esteem. If you truly believe those things though, then my heart goes out to you. I don't know what's happened to you in your life that you really believe the worst about yourself, but forget what people have told you. If you think that you're beautiful, then so will everyone else. About 75% of beauty is just perceived. Think about it. People tell you someone is pretty and you compare yourself to them. They may not even be as pretty as the hype leads you to believe. Take it with a grain of salt.

I know this in no way relates to crafting, but it's just something that's been on my mind lately as I struggle with my own body image.

I may not be happy with the way I look compared to the way I know I could look, but that doesn't mean that I'm ugly or fat. I'm me and I always will be.

Rant over.
School has gotten increasingly busy, so i've had no time at all to craft. I still haven't sold anything else, so I'm not feeling terribly motivated either.

New Project!

Recently I was walking through my favorite consignment store and I found some old cabinet knobs that were adorable.

These knobs inspired me to make a coat rack that I had seen on Pinterest.
I had a piece of board cut to size and my dad bevelled the edges for me. Then I sanded the sides and painted it. I sanded it again because I wanted to keep in line with the shabby chic appearance of the knobs.

I just got this new frame and it's so cute that I'm just going to leave it as is. I think it will be best as is, rather than crafting with it.

Anyone have any ideas on how to generate more etsy activity (views, favorites, followers)?

I'm going to be adding many new items this weekend, so be on the lookout!

I've just watched Julie & Julia and I'm feeling inspired to expand my blog. I may start posting things I cook as well. I'm an avid cook, so the cooking part won't be hard. The real difficulty will come in writing down recipes I make up and taking pictures of the process. Stay posted! I will try to begin this soon. I hope to make these recipes centered around fresh food from my local farmers market and a healthy living lifestyle.

Be sure to check out my Etsy page soon, I've just received my very own drill and major crafting will commence shortly.

I made my first Etsy sale today! This has definitely inspired me to keep crafting. Be on the lookout for my upcoming projects.

I got the idea for this from my mom.

I painted the background with multicolored stripes, then I painted upwards with white paint to get a faded effect. Next I painted a black vase and stems. I then attached small circles of vinyl with buttons on top.

It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped it would, but overall I'm pleased.
Still haven't sold anything on Etsy and I'm starting to feel a little bummed, but the crafting must continue. I've been moving into my new apartment so I've had to slow down a little on the crafting, plus I'm running low on funds for supplies.

Today I made a Glass Bead Daisy Ring. I found a tutorial on pinterest and I already had all my beads out so I gave it a shot. It turned out pretty well, but I suspect smaller beads would have been even better.

I haven't decided if I will sell these on Etsy or not. They're a little time consuming to make and I don't know if anyone will even want one.

Just completed my first craft project to sell in my Etsy store. I got the idea from something I saw on pinterest and I must say it was much more time consuming than I had anticipated. Overall I think it turned out pretty well, I'm hoping it will go over well on Etsy.

Hey guys!

I'm creating this blog to document my crafting projects for my new Etsy account. I'll post pictures of my craft adventures and vintage shopping finds regularly.
